Bruce Munro: Field of Light at Sensorio

PASO ROBLES - Internationally-acclaimed artist Bruce Munro will premier his largest artwork to date—an enormous multi-acre walk-through installation—at Sensorio in Paso Robles, California beginning May 19, 2019. Bruce Munro: Field of Light at Sensorio will use an array of over 58,800 stemmed spheres lit by fiber-optics, gently illuminating the landscape in subtle blooms of morphing color that describe the undulating landscape.

Egypt’s Lost Cities at The Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum

SIMI VALLEY - 1200 years ago, two bustling cities in ancient Egypt were known throughout the world as cultural centers of power, wealth, trade, and artistry. One day as the Mediterranean sun beat down on the bay of Aboukir, the cities slipped into the sea, buried for centuries. Just one decade ago, underwater archeologist Franck Goddio delivered the discovery of a millennium when he located the entire civilization.

Morro Bay Winter Bird Festival

MORRO BAY - Every Martin Luther King weekend, hundreds of birders visit Morro Bay - a Globally Important Bird Area - to see, photograph, and learn more about birds. Morro Bay is located halfway between Los Angeles and San Francisco on the Pacific Flyway. The area offers pristine beaches, beautiful state parks, an excellent natural history museum, panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean and, best of all, thousands of birds. Over 200 species are usually sighted during the Festival weekend.

CAMBRIA - The annual Cambria Art & Wine Festival is a three-day celebration of fine wines and art on California's Central Coast. Helen Hunt Jackson

HERITAGE VALLEY - Experience Helen Hunt Jackson’s January 23, 1882 visit to Rancho Camulos National Historic Landmark that inspired the book Ramona.  She wrote it to call attention to the mistreatment of Native Americans particularly through government policy.  However, its major impact was that it caused the first tourism boom to California.  This annual living history reenactment where the history, myth, and romance of old California still linger will delight you.

Snow Leopard Fest at the Zoo

SANTA BARBARA - Families will enjoy the Santa Barbara Zoo’s winter wonderland as this annual festival celebrating snow leopards. Children can sled down the “Himalayan mountains”, play in the snow, participate in arts and crafts and take photos with Santa Claus.
