The
Central Coast region of California includes more than 300 miles
of pristine coastline from north of Los Angeles to south of San
Francisco. Experience The Channel Islands, Monterey Bay Aquarium,
Hearst Castle, scenic coast Highway 1, Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk,
and miles of award-winning wineries throughout the region. A new
Central Coast attraction opened its doors in June 2001 - Bonfante
Gardens Theme Park, featuring rides, acres of exotic 'circus'
trees, plants and water.
The
Central Coast offers:
·
the opportunity to discover and experience the charm and beauty
of lesser-visited, unique destinations and enjoy our warm hospitality
and relaxed pace of life;
·
a wide variety of accommodations, recreational and cultural activities
to suit virtually any budget or interest, and
·
mild weather year-round (especially pleasant November through
April, when coastal fog is at a minimum).
Motels,
hotels, inns, spas, charming bed and breakfasts, or luxury resorts
- all of these accommodations can be found on the Central Coast.
Many of them are in breathtaking locations - nestled in pine forests,
situated right along the beach, perched on cliffs overlooking
the Pacific Ocean, right in the heart of historic districts, cradled
in the hills, and some are just off the "beaten path"
- or if you prefer, others are conveniently close to attractions
and other activities.
Central
Coast restaurants take full advantage of the bountiful supply
of locally grown produce and the fresh seafood harvested right
from the nearby Pacific Ocean. Award-winning wines from Central
Coast vineyards are also frequently found on the tables of area
restaurants. It's all available here on the Central Coast - everything
from "fine dining" to "ethnic food", "California
Cuisine", or just a casual place for a light snack or drink.
Try another local favorite, a special cut of beef called "tri-tip"
roasted over hot oakwood coals, served with spicy beans. There
are restaurants with unforgettable views, unique settings, and
those with their own special character.
