WINE & FOOD IN THE CENTRAL COAST
The Central Coast is quite literally a land of milk and honey—and a lot more too. This is a land of almost unlimited abundance with several of the country’s leading wine regions, citrus groves, and some of the tastiest strawberries you’ll find anywhere in the world. Fishing boats head out from harbor towns for halibut, salmon, and sea bass. There’s even lobster too. Not surprisingly, the region’s rich selection of fresh vegetables, fruit, and seafood draws innovative chefs and restaurateurs who have helped establish the Central Coast’s reputation as a dining destination. And many local farmers are now growing specialty crops for gourmet products, including olive oils, jams and jellies, and even heirloom garlic.
