Description

Located on Stearns Wharf at the end of State Street, the Ty Warner Sea Center is owned and operated by the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History and offers numerous marine exhibits and aquaria and a window on the Santa Barbara Channel.

 

At the Sea Center visitors of all ages can enjoy interactive exhibits, opportunities to work like scientists, a theater, hands-on close encounters with sea creatures and a live shark touch pool. Enter the Marine Mammal Mezzanine and greet a 39-foot, life-size model of a California Gray whale and her calf. Children can crawl through a 1,500-gallon tidepool surge tank to see ocean life from a different perspective. Observe sea stars, urchins, limpets, and much more. 

 

The Sea Center is an engaging, interactive marine education facility that allows visitors a way to discover the fun in science and the wonders of the natural world.
