Festival Mozaic

Join the Festival artists for a wine reception at the Mission San Luis Obispo Parish Hall and hear program highlights and performances. Music Director and Violinist Scott Yoo leads a Notable Encounter, which will take you behind the scenes of the music and provide musical insights and teach you what to listen for when the musicians perform their works in full. Santa Cruz Clam Chowder Cook-Off at the Boardwalk

Now a 2-Day event! More than just a cook-off, the Clam Chowder Cook-Off is a wacky event with cooking teams also competing for most creative booth. Purchase tasting kits to sample chowders cooked up by both amateur and professional chefs or just take a stroll and watch chefs prepare their chowders.

Salamander Saturday

Join us as the “Ranch of the Bear” becomes “Ranch of the Newt,” celebrating our amphibian friends that make their way from beneath rocks and under logs to the creeks, wetlands and puddles of the park. Participate in our annual celebration honoring the often overlooked, but heroically well adapted amphibian native.

Relais & Châteaux GourmetFest

The GourmetFest is an international food and wine festival in the quaint village of Carmel-by-the-Sea. The festival features the talents of Relais & Châteaux Chefs from around the world. Events include an opening night welcome party, a cooking demo, wine tastings, off-site tours combined with exciting lunches, featured chefs, world-class wine dinners, a rarities dinner, and a closing seafood grill and Champagne tasting.

Big Sur International Marathon

Considered one of the most scenic marathons in the country — and one of the most difficult — the Big Sur International Marathon gives athletes the rare opportunity to run 26.2 miles of coastline affording some of the most stunning views on the West Coast. With live music, devoted volunteers, and efficiencies borne of more than two decades of experience staging the run and its accompanying events, the Big Sur Marathon is so popular that it sells out almost every year.

50th Anniversary of the Summer of Love

People from all over gathered together 50 years ago for the first commercial American rock festival and the cornerstone event marking the Summer of Love. The Monterey Pop Festival has been credited for changing music history and later becoming the inspiration for subsequent music festivals including the Woodstock Music Festival. 25th Winemakers Celebration

The Monterey County Vintners & Growers Association hosts the county’s signature wine event, the Winemakers’ Celebration in picturesque Carmel-by-the-Sea. Celebrating the wines and winemakers of Monterey County’s world class growing region, the event will display over 100 incredible wines as Dolores Street (between Ocean & 7th) is transformed into an atmosphere reminiscent of a European village street festival.

24th Annual Carmel Art Festival

Combining plein aire painting and live sculpting with exhibits and sales, and lots of live music, the Carmel Art Festival takes over Devendorf Park and nearby side streets for three days of artistic creativity and consumption. Artists create in the park and outdoors throughout Carmel-by-the-Sea and Carmel beach. This free event features Sculpture in the Park, along with live music, awards, and live and silent auctions of the plein aire pieces.

36th Annual Civil War Battles & Encampment at Roaring Camp Railroads

Annual Run & Walk in the Name of Love

"Run in the Name of Love" is a scenic road race held annually on Father's Day. A 5K run begins at Carmel's historic Sunset Center and follows a coastal path alongside sandy white beaches and the dramatic Pacific Ocean, with a finish celebration overlooking Carmel Beach. Dogs are welcome to participate in the 2K walk/run which travels a similar course. All runners and walkers are encouraged to run in the name of someone they love.

The scenic and historic Santa Cruz Wharf is the perfect setting for a celebration of the surf spirit and classic surf wagons. Come out for music, prize drawings & woodie goodies.

Carmel Bach Festival

The Carmel Bach Festival celebrates its 80th Anniversary in 2017 with 15 days of performances, talks and educational events. As always, the focus is not only on J.S. Bach, but also on the many artists he influenced, such as Handel, Mozart, Brahms, and more. Musicians from the around the world perform an amazing array of multiple concerts and more than 40 events in Carmel, Monterey, and Pebble Beach. Multiple concerts every day. Carmel by the Glass Fiesta Garden Party

Rich Pepe and Jack Galante are reviving the Summer Fiesta Garden Party in the outdoor gardens and pool area of the La Playa Hotel. Mingle and stroll while enjoying wines offered by the tasting rooms of Carmel, Fiesta-style food, and live jazz will set the scene for a lovely mid-summer’s evening.
